Rachel Johnson,dtr.of Benj.Johnson and Rachel Summers, marr.a Wellman in Frederick-Montgomery Co.MD in c1765.Am wondering whether this could be my long-lost anc.Jeremiah Wellman of MD-NC, because Rachel's brother Benjamin also moved to NC.and died there in 1812.Jeremiah died NC in 1819. I would 'guess'that if Rachel were a first wife, she died in NC.also, as Jeremiah had a wife Tabitha at time of his Will. Vital records on this Jeremiah Wellman branch are strangely elusive. Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated. There were Johnstons in the Rowan-Davie Cos.of NC,but connection isn't known, if any.
