The story in my husband's family is that Gideon Welles (Abraham Lincoln's Secty. of the Navy) was an ancestor through a daughter of his. I personally think that his connection may have been through a sister or his mother. Could someone please list Gideon Welles' siblings and his children, and the name of his mother?
