Where at in Illinois? As far as I know, I am of the many descendants of the only Wellen in Illinois (Clinton County). Almost everyone in my entire county came from Lengerich, Germany or thereabouts. Middendorf is also a name in the general area so it's possible but I don't know anything about it offhand - will need to do a little more research before I answer this one. It might help if I know where they died. Joe Wellen
