Hi Cuz,I am one of your uncle Gene's daugther Debbie I have been keeping in contact with your sister marie's son David and he had send me a photo of your dad,my dad,Uncle Earl and Uncle Joe when they was little.I have found out that we are kin to Jesse and Frank James of Missouri Fame. Thanks for the come back. Look over the below genealogy report as concerns accuracy of relationships. In the absence of D.O.B. I use About Dates. After WW-II folks were generally married by their 20th birthday, so if I know a year up line I will normally make their first child born about 20 years later. Then on birth spacing prior to WW-II I use two years, and after 1946 I use birth spacing of three years. I am generally pretty close within 3-5 years on dates of birth (this is acceptable for about dates), but when I'm off I am way off.
After you send the below back with corrections if needed I will cut you a genealogy report of the Whole Family Line.
Our Weldy Clan is made up of basically two Descendants of its Patriarch, William Weldy, b. abt. 1681 Virginia and his wife Anne Rebecca Mims, b. Abt. 1686 Virgina. They had three children that we know of (there were probably others. One was Agnes Weldy who married her cousin David Mims of which Jesse and Frank James of Missouri Fame are descendants and the other was William Weldy, b. Abt. 1721 Hanover, Va. and his wife Rebecca. They had at least five children of which there were two sons. George Weldy, b. Abt. 1753 Goochland Co., Virginia and his brother William Weldy, b. about 1755, probably Goochland, Va. Both of our (your and mine) come from George Weldy. George (m) Nancy Laury, b. February 05, 1764 Goochland, Va. and they had five children. My ancestor from these five children was George G. Weldy; he picked up and left Virginia with family and a large part of the Mims Clan and made there way to my Neck Of The Woods in Missouri. George G. Weldy's brother, William Weldy (your ancestor), b. 1789 Albermarle Co., Va. and his wife Nancy Kennedy left Virginia with family and worked their way first South to Georgia and then Westward ending up in Mississippi. Some of their children moved back to an area just North of Mobile, Al.; Deer Park, Al. and farmed there for several generations. They had a large family cemetery there which I've driven by several times, but never had a chance to visit. From the familyof William & Nancy (Kennedy) Weldy several move Westward to Texas and then to New Mexico.
As concerning the William Weldy, Sr. (m) 4/29/1851 to Susan Morningstar. In absence of his D.O.B. I would place his year of birth at about 1831. As concerns the place and time of his marriage if he was one of our Weldy Family Members he would have had to be one of my Weldy Clan members, a descendant of George G. Weldy & Elizabeth Layne that moved westward from Virginia, through Ohio, Illinois and then to Missouri. He isn't one of mine. Now, there are other Weldy Family Units from Europe that came to America the same time period as our orginial George Weldy, 1753 Goochland, Va. The question is are they related to our Weldy Clan Units. If they are then their ROOT CONNECTION IS BACK IN EUROPE, and if you Shake Our Collective Family Tree Hard Enough and go back to Europe you will probably find some of them. Bottom line on this William Weldy is he isn't our.Michael Imler Dopson (midopson@cox.net)Micheal is our cuz and he has more the family and more if you want more on the family frist you need to get in contact with Cathey Cline She can put you in contact with Micheal ok.To: kalypso56@yahoo.com
