Yes there must be a lot of John Weldy's out there, my brother is one also. I don't know much about my grandpa Lyle Weldy's life in WI. He wrote a book called "From Wisconsin with bib overalls". In that book he says he was born in a township called Orion about 7 miles east of Blue River. His mother was Buda Jones and his father was Floyd Weldy. I only quickly scanned his book for information for you I know his grandparents were Lillian and Lyle(I think) Weldy. Hope it helps you some. He only had one brother named Dale.
