Hello Samuel,
I am always looking for ANY variation of the WELDON surname
in SC as my ggrandfather, WM LAWRENCE WEELDON, Black, was born there in 1829.
Believe he was a slave of the WHEELDON/WHILDEN family of
Sumter and Christ Church but fail to track him or my
mulatto ggrandmother, CHARATA BROWN, born 1833 NC.
After 13yrs of no connections, I still hold out hope that
someone will claim kinship, and that I shall have answers
to this elusive line of mine.
The ROGERS surname appears to be connected; wonder if you
have any more info on AFRICA ROGERS?
It is also of interest to read of your NS connection w/the
BOYKIN surname (which I have yet to look into) as I have a theory that VA ancestors may have been among some who migrated there in 1783.
Any ideas or advice?
Sincerely,
carol wheeldin warren.
