Hello Double Cousin,
Thomas Mitchell, Sr. was born c. 1684.He marriedSusannah "Ann" Teague 1709 the daughter of William Teague and Isabella Pennington.
His mother was the widow of a Mitchell unknown to me.She married Edward Wilbourn c. 1700 probably in Chester Co., PA where they received a land grant in 1701.
They later moved to Baltimore Co., MD where many of their records appear in St John's and St George Parish records.
Thomas Mitchell is the only known child of the Mitchell union. He was named by his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell Wilbourn (maiden name unknown) the widow of Edward Wilbourn as the co-administrator of the estate of Edward Wilbourn in Baltimore Co., MD.Sept 8, 1731 the widow Elizabeth Wilbourn relinquished the administration in favor of HER SONS Thomas Wilbourn and Thomas Mitchell.
The half brothers and sisters of Thomas Mitchell are:Thomas Wilbourn b. 1701Elizabeth Wilbourn b. 1706 who married Isaac Wood, William Wilbourn/Welborn b. 1707 who married Ann Crabtree and Anne who married John Ryan. You can check the deed records and see that the Woods and some of the others continued to live on Edwards land.Thomas Mitchell is on the 1703 tax list in Baltimore Co., MD and in 1730 his age is 46 years old and he said he had live in Baltimore Co., for 30 years.
His will was probatedMarch 11, 1747Administration bond posted for his estate by Thomas Slieght, Isaac Ristau and Nathan NicholsFeb 14, 1749.Check out his signatures on the documents.
