Weitz of Buffalo NY, Boston MA, and RI, from 1850-

Looking for any one searching the WEITZ family found immigrating from what was then, Breslau Germany, now Wroclau Poland, to Buffalo NY. Henry Gustav Weitz and wife, Matilda, left the port of Bremen in Germany and arrived in Aug 1850 in NYC. He stated he was a watchmaker, though the family says he was an opera singer. I believe they settled in Buffalo, where my direct ancestor, Henry Gustav Weitz was born in 1860. His father died not too long after that and his mother remarried a man named Stoudt (STout- first name not know). He moved the family to Boston MA area and eventually, they moved between Boston and Providence RI. One branch of this family were very active on the Vaudville route in the early 1900's as a singing act, four brothers.

IF any one has any invormation about any Henry, Gus, Emil, Francis, William, Carl, Weitz (often seemed to marry irish and Scottish women (Cullen, Moran, McCallum) I'd greatly love to share information. I'm stuck, now that I've found they came from what is now Poland, but Germany before WWI. The records seem to be lost before then.

Any one from this branch of the Weitz/Weiss family?

Karen (
