When I discovered that the "Weiser Families in America" book (by the Weiser Family Association) had my great-great-grandfather listed, I was very excited. When I read the actual listing, some of my excitment waned as the notation was only, "no further record" along with his birth date, which I already had. I had some information from my mother and have been doing further digging. For anyone interested in updating their books, I wanted to post here, the obituary that was located for me by the St. Louis Genealogical Society. From the "Daily Missouri Democrat"(later to be named "St. Louis Globe Democrat"), May 17, 1865, page 1, column 6: "DIED. At half past one o'clock, on the morning of Tuesday, May 16, 1865, Mr. PETER HENRY WEISER, in the fifty second year of his age. The funeral will be at his late residence, on Second street, between Labeaume and Hempstead, at half past 10 to-day. Columbus, Ohio, papers please copy."
I hope this helps someone and if anyone can help me find out more about Peter, I am open to suggestions.
