I am trying to find information on Melinda(Malinda)Weiser b 25 November 1848 in Juniata Co. d 31 October 1919
She married Edward Garman Sheaffer(Shaffer). He was born in a part of Union County what is now Snyder Co. 14 July, 1846.
Melinda was the daughter of a Jacob Weiser and wife Rebecca(?)The Sheaffers always said Melinda was descended from Konrad Weiser. I think her middle name may have been Della. Her family was supposed to have something to do with the Pennsylvania canal business.
Both were buried in Halls cemetary, Mckees Half Falls
Another point. When EG Sheaffer's father John Sheaffer Jr. was young, he was a cooper and farmer and worked for a JUDGE WEISER for 3 years in Susquehannah Township. After serving in the Civil War, EG worked as a Boatswain on the "Margeret Weiser".
