Thanks for info, but I have, since posting above querry, found the parents of Michael G. Weissel.
His parents: Michael Weisel,Jr=Catharine Geres; whose parents were: Michael Weisel, Sr.=Magdalena Drach; whose parents were: Georg Michael Weisel=Susannah Kuffer who emigrated from Alsace, Ger in 1732.
