Weir DNA Project
Hi
Did your Weir ancestors arrive on the British mainland before the Romans?Or did they come with the Romans, Vikings, or more recent with William and the Normans?
I am related to Weir from 1,100 AD, probably before we adopted surnames. My Weir match has recently ordered the full BIG Y test from FTDNA.It is hoped to bring in new evidence of 'our' branch which is U152 from Switzerland/N. Italy 3,500 yrs ago.
If you are a Weir/Wear or variant spelling and want to join this exciting project, here is the link to Family Tree DNA.

You can search, but here is the Weir project:

If you do order and match our group's DNA 'haplotype' you will also know your genetic pathway many 1,000s of years ago as we have already done the more expensive deep testing.
Best regards
Brian
