Our William Weir's Father was a George Weir I believe. who had William, James and Anne Weir as Children. They lived in Carluke.
William Weir born 1769 and died 1828 at a Linen Mill on the River Clyde. He Marr. Mary Lewers and had 9 children overall.

His youngest son James Weir named one of his children Alexander Weir so I expect there was that name in the previous generations.

Most of the Weir Family are still in Canada, and began life here as farmers.

Our family was connected to the Stonebyres Estate in Lesmahagow.
