heh...I don't have any Weirs yet, and although I lived in Ottawa years ago, I'm from the southern states. My grandfather b Fraserburgh SCT, after going to CAN, fighting in the CEF, and returning to ENG, came to the NY in 1920.
It's just a hunch, if I have any Weirs it'll be ca 1700's SCT, probably BAN, and a collateral line in a big way.
...I try to post a message when I find a typo/variation that wouldn't be an obvious one. I can think of a number of ways to spell Weir. Neir wouldn't have been one of them, but when you think about the handwriting, it makes sense.
I have Innes' who passed through ON before going to BC, but even they, if proven, are extremely distant cousins - 600 years ago!...and another, much closer 1797 branch which is spread over the mid-west CAN, but now I want to know who Innes Rd is named after! I wasn't interested in this stuff when I lived there.
