Donald:
Wow!I don't have anything at all on William and Susannah (Miller) Weir's son William Weir Jr.The only children I have anything on are Jane (Weir) Poag, Nancy (Weir) Wilkins, James Weir and Samuel Weir, so this is quite a coup. Those four children are referenced in Rothert's book on Muhlenberg County, KY and I found out about the others through two genealogies on the Weir family. You are right about the Millers, Weirs and McCowans moving as a group. The were Scotch-Irish covenanteers...can't remember the name of the minister that lead their group, but yes, they did all move to SC as a group. The 10 children I have for William and Susannah (Miller) Weir are as follows:
1. Nancy Weir; m. John Wilkins on March 9, 1796 at Todd Co., KY
2. Samuel Weir b. 1769
3. David Weir b. 1770
4. William Weir Jr. b. 1772
5. Samuel Weir b. 1774
6. James Weir b. 1777
7. Jane Weir b. 1778; m. Joseph Poag; d. September 1860 in Muhlenberg Co., KY
8. Agnes Weir b. 1780
9. Margaret Weir b. 1782
10. Janet Weir b. 1784
Definitely would be interested in seeing copies from the Weir bibles you mention and will pass on what I have on the Weirs as well.Email me your snail mail address at [email protected] and I'll pass this along to you and send you my address as well.VERY exciting to get information on your branch of the Weirs!
Todd
