Hi Glen:Just read your message.I too am researching the Weir's in Belfast. However, I don't think we have a connection. My great grandfather was Robert Weir, born in l847.Came to America with his father, John Weir, mother (I don't know her first name) a brother, Henry and other brothers and sisters.Arrived at the port of New York I think around 1854 or 1855.They settled in Brooklyn New York, and according to obituary in the newspaper, a sister eventually settled in Spring Valley New York.Robert and his brother, Henry were on the same ship together during the civil war, under Admiral Faragut.Robert eventually married my great-grandmother, Helen Grow. They had four children.Charles (my grandfather), Florence and two other daughter.Charles married my grandmother Mary Eva Anderson. They had three children.Ivola, Robert and James.James was my father. If you think wemight have a connection, please write.Or anyone else out there.
