I have a Winetrout in Ohio which I had always thought was an American version of Weintraub. She was Mary Amelia Winetrout, b.1853 in OH., married October 12, 1876, d.1898 in Crawford Co. OH buried at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galion. At least one of Mary's parents was born in Germany.Marriage License in volume 9 page 105 of Crawford Co. in 1876.I found some information on a Winetrouts in the Galion area in the Latter Day Saints files, but the family starts and disappears which makes me think the name really was something else and they changed back to the original name. This is the only information I have.I do not know if it is of any use to you. They did not appear in the 1900 census as Winetrout.
