From my understanding WEILER is the German spelling and many changed it to WYLER and some must have even changed it to WEYLER. So many names were "Americanized" when they came into the states. I happen to be a Weiler still with the traditional spelling but it is so often mispronounced that I understand why people changed the spelling.
