Well - yes there is a Niedermendig (or at least there used to be) in Germany. There was a Niedermendig and an Obermendig that combined into one town which is now called Mendig. I chose to use the name Niedermendig in my post as it's the name of the town MY WEILER FAMILY would've known it as. Mendig is in Landkreis Mayen - near Koblenz. Sorry for any misunderstandings.
