Ware/Weiher from Germany to WV

I have just recently started to search for my Ware line. Perhaps Weiher. As far back as I have been able to go is with my gggg grandfather Richard Dickie Ware b 1754-1770. He married Mary Polly Wilson in 1804. They had many children 13 proven, working on 3 more.
My grt grandfahther Able Ware insisted that the Ware/Weihers came from the Black Forest Region of Germany.
Some reserchers disagree with this as they say Ware is not a German name. But what lead me back to Germany and the variation of the spelling of Weiher were 2 names of his sons. Benoni and Hiram both being Hebrew (Jewish). After checking more I found Benoni was Benjamin. And then found both Benoni and Weiher in Germany.
Would anyone have info as to where I might be able to locate birth records on line in Germany for the periods 1754-1770. Or any other leads into my families past.
Any help would be appreciated.
