My sources (primarily my grandmother) tell me there were 7 Weicker brothers that came over from Germany (Black Forest region) in the late 1800's. My great-grandfather lived in Rhode Island and attended the Rhode Island School of Design (now a part of Brown University) and helped design and develop torpedoes at the submarine base in R.I. during WWI. His son, Raymond (b. 1910), attended Lehigh University and worked at Bethlehem Steel most of his life. My father, Richard (b. 1941) now lives in Manlius, NY. I live in Arlington, VA.

Of the 7 brothers, the offspring, according to my sources, have helped to found the pharmaceutical company Merck (see http://www-personal.umich.edu/~afuah/cases/case10.html)

and have been involved in the state and national politics (see http://gwu.edu/~action/weic.html)

There are currently Weickers of my immediate relation in New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia. Any other information or correction of my info. would be appreciated.
