Hello, I am Tracy's cousin Tom Weichmann. I think that we are discussing two seperate famalies. My Weichmann branch came to the US with their name instact. Johann Weichmann first appears in the Buffalo City Directory in 1885. If I remember correctly I did see your spelling in the directory as well (so clode that it would catch my eye)

I suppose that it is possiable that your relatives came sperately, and their names got changed. I am just starting to check into the family pre-immegration now. Up to now though, I have not come across anything to make me believe that these two are connected.

Let me know if you find anything.

Tom Weichmann
