You mention a MINNIE BECK on the 1920 Georgia - Cherokee CO census:

Listed : Beck, Mack - Head - age 57, Married
- , Lear - wife - age 53 "
- , Viola - Daughter - age 16,
- , Venita - Daughter - age 13 - single
- , Luther - son - age 9, single
Wehunt, Minnie - mother in law - age 80, widow

I am researching my husband's family (BECK), which we have not been able to locate. But recently I have a few leads that perhaps they were living in the Lumpkin County area. The only DAVID BECK located in this area lived in the Auraria area.

One death records noted LEA FRIX also listed as the wife of JASPER MACK BECK (David's son). I found them listed on the 1870 & 1880 census records for Auraria, based on the ages and names that I know of right now. Am finding MINNIE WEHUNT (age 80) also listed as his mother-in-law on the 1920 Cherokee County GA census.

I am curious as to the if you might have a LEA FRIX listed in the BECK/FRIX records? Is is possible to get a list of the surnames associated with this file at your library? Do you have any obituries for this family as well? Just wondering what you might have available there.

Jasper Mack (Mankin) Beck, b.22 Feb 1865, d.7 Dec 1950 - Nelson, GA. Trying to find out both his parents and Lea's or Lear's parents, if their last name were FRIX or WEHUNT.

From recent information received from two other sources, we think that "Minnie Wehunt" was a nickname for:

Alanna Elizabeth Crane was born in Pickens County, South Carolina

Marriage notes for Alanna Crane and Reuben Fricks

Lumpkin County, Georgia August 25, 1855

Marriage Book B. Page # 150

We have a Alanna Elizabeth Crane b. 1838 S. C. daughter of Balis Crane

Alanna Elizabeth Crane married # 1
Rubin Fricks the children were.
William Fricks b. 1867
Ann Fricks b. 1861
Emoline Fricks b. 1863
John Fricks b. 1865
Lear Fricks b. 1868
Sarah Fricks b. 1869
James Fricks b. 1871
Sophronia Fricks b. 1874
Alanna married # 2
Eli Wehunt son of William Wehunt & Fanny Lingerfelt
Alanna Crane/Fricks can be found in the 1880 census living in Lumpkin County, Georgia, with her parents.

We don't know if she ever went by the name Minnie, but all of these details seem to be pointing to the same person.

Any help you could offer would really be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Linda Johnson
