Please note new internet address. Researching FRANZ/FRANTZ and WEHNER/WAHNER surnames from early 1800s. Wehner from Euerbach, Unterfranken, Germany. Franz from same general area (siblings married before immigrated). They were Catholic in Ohio in 1830s, 1840s. The Wehners, some Franzs, immigrated on Ship Annawon arriving USA 28 July 1834. John(Nicholas?)Franz immigrated ship Brig President 1840, single; married Barbara Wehner 27 Sep 1840 Allen Co., OH; shoemaker Anna Maria Franz married George Wehner; son George P. Wehner b 19 May 1831 Weulfershausen, Bavaria imm ship Annawon. Michael Franz born abt 1805 married Margaret Wehner b abt 1811 imm Ship Annawon. (Johann) George Franz b abt 1809 imm Ship Annawon Margaret Franz b abt 1809 (married Michael SMITH?) Unknown Franz married Margaret HENLEIN b abt 1815; son Michael Franz born July 1833; Margaret m2 Andrew NUSS b 1803 Aura, near Schweinfurt. Nicholas Franz/FRANTZ b abt 1815, uncle, remained single Christian Franz b abt 1819 Germany married Maria; reside Ohio by 1850 census George Franz b abt 1825 Wuerttemburg Rosena Frantz b abt 1831 married Joseph USSERMAN; she immigrated 1833 age 2 through Baltimore; she died shortly after marriage, probably late 1847, no children. Other surnames married into family include KLEUPFEL/KLIPFEL, SCHEMMEL. Thought to have been associated with Conrad Schemmel immigrants who came to clear his land and build his house, but they were able to purchase/own land immediately after immigrating. Interested in ANY info on these surnames/locations! Records apparently lost during the war in Schweinfurt, I'm told. Notify Administrator about this message?
