Kari, thanks for replying. Finding Wegner ancestors is so hard. The birth year is about right but my family says our August came to America in 1869 with wife and family. But that is about all they know (or at least all I know from them) I don't know where Stettin (our Gottfried's birth-place) is in relation to Wirsitz (your August's birthplace) but it does not seem like our August is your August. But this is fun to search and somewhere we may find all our answers.
