Well, let's add another wrinkle to the story. My third-great-grandfather was John Crispen Weeter (1832-1890). We don't exactly know where he fits (the records in Clarion County are quite sparse). I would like to know what proof there is that Peter's son, Jacob married Jane Crissman. My suspicion is that the name was Crispen (there is a family by this name in the area but I've yet to discover anyone who knows about them.) This would place my John C. as one of Jacob and Jane's children.
There has been a fairly well-documented Weeter genealogy put together by Kerry Kline at the Clarion Public Library. It's within her Kline Family history. Kerry believes that he ancestor, Susannah Weeter Klein also a daughter of Peter, Sr. but she is unable to prove it. Anyone know anything conclusive??
Regarding census, Kerry notes that in 1810 Peter is in Armstrong (Clarion) County but is indexed under Peter WATER.
I'm looking for whatever anyone can offer on this line. I'd love to hear from you!
