Mark: Page 17 has the Weekes family crest and the follwing copy: Weekes - Weeks Derivaation and History Weekes, Weeks, Wekes, Wikes, Wykes, Wicks, Wickes, Wyckes, Wycks, Wix, Week, Wick, Wicke, Wyche, Wyck,Wyke, Weick, Weik, De Wike, De Wyke, Van Wyck, Vick, Etc. - are but different forms of the same name, ornames of like origin; taking their rise from the Saxon wic, wyc, wich, or wiche, and related forms in other European languages - akin to the Latin wicus (village), and the Greek oikos, then it goes on to the next page. I not only have an original copy of the book printed in 1885, but I also have a copy of the Preface, Section I that starts on page 17, Section II on George of Dorchester, and Section III, William of Dorchester. I am a direct descendant of both George and William. Please let me know how I can help you. Wayne Weeks Racine, WI Notify Administrator about this message?
