Laura, I just checked www.familytreedna.com and ancestry.com and it looks like a 12 marker test on Family Tree is $89 and a 37 marker is $139. (Last year about this time I spent $149 for a 12 test. They have really gone down in price. Ancestry has a special 33 marker for $79. I have done all three in stages and if you can afford it the 37 marker from Family Tree is the best choice for comparisons to others, but if cost is a problem do the 33 marker from Ancestry but just be aware that only 27 of the markers are comparable to Family Tree but it gives you a lot of bang for the buck and you can post your results on www.ysearch.org for a lot of exposure. I have done a fair amount of research on the Leonard Weeks family and would like to know from which branch you descend? And was any of your family in VA or NC. If your paper trail is good and your brother gets tested we would have another early settler isolated with DNA. Good luck, Walter Weeks Notify Administrator about this message?
