According to Annals of Oxford - "Stephen Weeks and wife came from Long Island at an early day and settled in Bainbridge. Not liking the situation there they went five miles farther and located on "Cider" creek, near Yaleville (Guilford), where he cleared the land sufficiently to put up a log house to shelter himself and wife. Mr. Weeks died in 1813, leaving his wife with eight children, the youngest of whom, Stephen, 2d, born March 26, 1813, was but six months old."
Anyone know names & dates for his 8 children, name of his wife, his father, and where from on LI?
Could his wife have been Amy Fish?
Could he be related to Susan Weeks b.c.1780 m.c. 1795 Joseph Bush of Bainbridge, mother of Susan Bush b. 1795 m. Alanson Burr of Caneadea, Allegany County, NY?
