Hello Phil,
You haven't posted for quite a while but I thought since your line was in TX about the same time as this family, you were the best candidate to share with.

I have posted the following on this forum, not sure if it will be helpful but here goes:

I notice you haven't posted for awhile. I did want to clarify the info. on this thread and let descendants of Winslow Turner II and Elizabeth (Betsy) Williams that I can help them extend her ancestral line.

I have a lot of sources available.
I am working on this WILLIAMS line through
Mrs. Elizabeth "Betsy" (Williams-her maiden name)(Williams)TURNER who married second, Winslow Turner II. I am her grgrgrgrgrandaughter through her first marriage with cousin William Williams.

If you are a descendant of these lines and would like more information on your WILLIAMS hertitage, please contact me. If you have more to share I would love to hear from you.

Without the wisdom and generousity of others I would not be able to continue weaving my incredible family tapestry!

There were THREE Winslow Turners-
-Winslow I who was married twice. His first wife was Molly Sarah Standish--second wife--Elizabeth but no known last name.

His son Winslow Turner II b. ca 1786 -wife--Mrs. Elizabeth "Betsy" Williams, (a widow with a very young son and daughter which Winslow reared as his own)--emig. to the Province of Texas in 1826 from what is now Lincoln Co., MO. with their children. They had eleven children including Malkijah and Teresa Williams.

Their son Winslow Turner III was an Indian fighter plus he fought in the Texas Revolution. b. 1811, m. 1st Sarah Carpenter Sowell, then 2nd Hannah L. Coon; buried in the Texas State Cemetery, Austin, Texas.

This is a very historic early Texas Family.
In Texas historical and genealogical information, Winslow II is referred to as Winslow Sr., and Winslow III is referred to as Winslow Jr.

Heirs of Winslow Turner, deceased:
Winslow Turner and wife Betsy; (Elizabeth Williams)
Stephen Cottle and wife Sally; (Sarah Turner)
Abijah M. Highsmith and wife Deborah; (Deborah Turner)
Adam Turner

Found this in my old files, believe it was from GenForum but not certain.

Decendants of Molly Standish and Winslow TURNER.
They were both born in Pembroke, Mass and immigrated to MO. Their son, also Winslow Turner was born in Pembroke Mass, then moved with his parents to Lincoln Co, MO where he married Elizabeth Williams, they moved on to Texas, their son was named Stephen Robert Turner.
I do not have any records on any possible siblings for Stephen, but do have records of the siblings from this point backwards to Myles Standish.

Winslow TURNER and Molly Standish-
To my knowledge their children are:
1. Elias Turner, m. Keziah Barker
2. Winslow Turner, m. Elizabeth Williams
3. Miles S. Turner
4. Sally Turner, m. Stephen Cottle
5. Deborah Turner, m. Abijah M. Highsmith
6. Phebe Turner, m. William Null
7. Mahala Turner, m. Alonzo Cottle

NOTES: Elias Turner, d. 1837, North Texas. He was robbed and murdered there. Later a man named Quarles was caught with Elias's watch and was hanged as his murderer.

HIGHSMITH is a connected line through
Teresa/Theresa (WILLIAMS) Highsmith. She was the only full-sibling of my 3rd-great-grandfather Malkijah "Lige" WILLIAMS. Some Highsmith researchers mistakenly think she was a "Turner". I am hoping to connect with her descendants so that I can share more about her WILLIAMS ancestors.
