I am trying to trace my history back to the great stateman Daniel Webster of New Hampshire. I've been able to find out he was married to a lady by the name of grace from 1808 to 1828, and have only been able to find out about one son, Col. Fletcher Webster of the 12th Massachussets...fletcher was born 7/25/1818 and died in Manassas, Va. on 8/30/1862 at the 2nd battle of manassas/bull run. I also know that Daniel Webster married a Caroline in 1829. But no further information there. I know Fletcher was also married, but also no further information. I know there were at least 4 other children born in the first marriage all of whom died, but not at what ages, whether they were old enough to have been married or if married long enough to have children.
So I am stuck and I am trying to find out link from Mary Webster who was born 10/14/1887 and died 1/14/1961. She was married to Nevie Cutlip and bore him 5 children one of whom was my grandfather Daniel Webster Cutlip. Anyone with information that can help link Mary Webster back to Daniel would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to find out whether my being related to the great statesman Daniel Webster is myth or fact, so I can pass the truth on to my children.
