I am trying to figure out the ancestry of John and Ruth Webster. They had at least 3 daughters ... LAURA who was born Mar 1845, married James G. Stoliker** and eventually lived in Everett MA; probably JANE who was born Aug 1857, married Charles Smith, and died Apr 1936,*** Bedford/Missisquoi County, Quebec; and ELLA L b.about 1860, living in Manchester NH when she married in 1884 Frank L. Nickerson in Haverhill, MA. In the 1880 US census Ella and her mother Ruth Webster were living with James and Laura in Haverhill. On the 1893 MA death certificate of Ruth Webster her birthplace was listed as Canada and her parents as James Leavitt and Cynthia Perkins both born in MA. Jane's daughter MAUD married Cassius Smith in 1907 at the home of Ella and Frank in Everett, MA.
**James G. Stoliker is found in the 1851 census in Sutton, Missisquot County saying he was born in Franklin Vermont.
*** The 1911 Canadian Census Jane and Charles are living in Bedford, Missisquoi, where they are listed as Methodists with Canadian background.
I am trying to find out what Webster family John came from. There is the family story that they are direct line descendants of THE Daniel Webster.
