Matthew:

E. Virginia Hunt is considered the expert on Wolfert Webber. I first corresponded with Virginia in 1981 and purchase one of the first copies of her book “Dutch Webbers of Indiana & Illinois”. In the book Virginia writes how her family tradition included the “royal descent from William the Silent of Orange-Nassau”. Her research exposed the “tradition” as a myth. Virginia told me there were those in her family that refuse to accept that their family’s “royal connection” was mythical, her niece being one of those. To prove her aunt wrong, the niece contacted the Dutch Genealogical Society. The Society referred the niece to E. Virginia Hunt’s genealogy. Kurt W. Webber
