Wayne,
Mary Melinda Webb was born a Carnley and married a Rose (which was the name of her husband's adoptive parents)She was widowed with 2 living children when she married our Great- Grandfather John Webb. I'm not sure that his name was John Talton, I believe after looking again that John Talton was his Uncle ( his father Baldwin's brother). But you are right this is definitely our bunch.
Sharon, It goes like this: Wilford>Baldwin>John>Hosey(Lee)>Ralph>Wayne& Melinda. I'll look in my father's papers and see if he ever discovered who Wilford's parents were. By the way Wilford, Jasper, and Marion all fought for the Confederacy. Marion and Jasper both died during the war. Wilford returned home and was a Methodist preacher(I'm not sure if he was before the war) my father had in his possession a copy of a letter that Wilford wrote to Susan during the time he was away at war. If you'd like I'll see if I can locate it and send you a copy.
Melinda Webb Russ
