Isaiah Webb - b. 1796
Still drawing blanks on Isaiah's parents and possible siblings...Here is what I know for certain:He was born in 1796.Location is really not known for certain. It has always been said that it was North Carolina, but that has never been confirmed. He first shows up for certain in September of 1814, at the age of 18, when he enlisted for service in the War of 1812.He joined Captain Kincaid's Company of Infantry, 2nd Regiment, West Tennessee Militia. They mustered into service at Fayetteville, Tennessee.According to the Regiment's records, most men in the regiment were from the following counties:Davidson, Warren, Humphreys, Lincoln, Maury, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, White, and Williamson Counties, but this doesn't rule out that some men came from other counties. After his service in the war we don't see him again until the Creek War in 1818.He again enlists in the West Tennessee Militia, this time in a Hugh Kirk's Company of Mounted Gunmen, 1st Regiment of West Tennessee Militia, under the command of Col BH Dyer. After this service, he gets married in Dec 1818, in Rutherford County, Tennessee to Frances Elizabeth May.After this we see them in Bedford County, TN in Nov 1819 with the birth of their first son, William Webb.We have them specifically in Bell Buckle, TN in 1821 with the birth of their second son, Stephen Bedford Webb.We have them in Bedford Co, TN through Dec 1850, at which time Isaiah applies for his War of 1812 pension and land grant (confirmed by affadavits made before the Justice of thr Peace there). We see them next in Benton Co, Arkansas on 7/1/1859 in the Arkansas land records.Isaiah lives in Pea Ridge, Arkansas until his death in Sept 1881.In 1850, at Bedford Co, TN, two persons making affadavits in Isaiah's support were Samuel Webb and Benjamin Webb, but the records don't say who they were. Some of Isaiah's immediate descendents have lived in the following locations (Not all inclusive):
Missouri:Barry County, Warren County, McDonand County
Oklahoma:LeFlore Co, Tillman Co,
Arkansas:Pea Ridge, Benton Co
Texas:Sherman, Jacksonville
New Mexico:Roswell
There must be descendents of the listed Benjamin and Samuel (of 1850 in Bedford, TN) out there somewhere. If so...step forward!
