I went to the Macon County rootsweb site,,,
I found a William Webb and Lucretia "Cressie/Lucy" Gibson parents of George Webb and a William Webb ... not sure if your Ben Webb had a brother named William or he is the same.....http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/7305/w2.htm#WEBB
on the 1870 and 1880 Macon Co., NC. Census they have a son Benjamin right age for your Ben Webb I will go back and search to see if they have a William Webb . More research is needed .
