Family stories passed down tell me about Augustus Weaver born around 1853 in Pennsylvania to Peter and Margaret Weaver. The story says that he lived with the Cherokee Indians for many years before moving to Florida (where he died in 1893). He married an Indian squaw and almost had to escape to leave the Indians. They say he participated in the Trail of Tears. He had a son named Tee Gus who was probably born part Indian because my Dad always tells me he is 1/64th Cherokee Indian.
