I am looking for information on my great-great-grandmother Lou Etta Young (b.29 Jul 1878-Roanoake, Randolph Co., AL; d. 29 Jun 1972-Marshall Co., AL). On one census she's listed as Lue and my father says she often went by Etta. She married my great-great-grandfather, William Franklin Weathers (b. 17 Jul 1871-Randolph Co., AL; d. 11 Jan 1954, Marshall Co., AL) on 12 Dec 1894 in Marshall Co. They had three children, William Jesse (b. 1895-Marshall Co., AL; d. 1970-Marshall Co., AL), Homer Lee (b. 1899) and Opha (b. 1903).
Although all three children married, only my great-grandfather, Jesse had children of his own. He was married to Emma Josephine Nelson (b. 1895-Clay Co., AL; d. 1981-Etowah Co., AL)and their only child is my paternal grandmother. Obviously, there are very few descendants and even fewer living, so I don't know if anyone would have any information on Lou Etta, but I know that my g-g-grandfather was one of several children and an immense number of grandchildren who all lived to adulthood. His parents were Simeon Thomas Weathers and Sarah Anne Margaret White and his paternal grandparents were Isham Thomas Weathers and Sarah Ann Thompson and I know that there is considerable research regarding their descendants, so I am hoping someone has information on a line parallel to theirs.
