I came across your message on GenForum and wondered if any of the following New Zealand Wearnes belong in your family tree: - Amelia Julia Wearne and her brother, Charles Alexander Wearne,of Todman Street,Brooklyn, Wellington; Jakeh Joseph Wearne and his wife Helena of Kiwi Street,Lower Hutt, Wellington (1931 Electoral Roll). These people are connected to my husband's Kearns/Eddy family but we don't know what the connection is. When my husband was a child he knew Amelia Wearne as Aunty Mil and often stayed with her and uncle Charles in Brooklyn. I believe they were connected to the Reefton Wearne family - but there again, I don't know how. If you are able to throw any light on this I would be so grateful.
