Dear Jim, there is a WARE Family website dealing specifically with the spelling of WARE. Ware could easily have been Wear at an earlier date, but folks began to get better literacy rates, and could therefore spell their own names without, as over the centuries, getting a 'scribe' to do it for them. So spellings in recent times have stablised. Genealogists agree there are some 30 variations in the spelling. So, go for WARE FAMILY on your search, I have seen it myself. it is an American web, built by a clever young woman.
Good luck, Gordon.
