Weakley in Louisiana, and TN

My grandmother was Evelyn Mae Weakley born 1901 in Louisiana. She had 2 brothers. Emmitt who moved to Bellevue, IL and Kelly who moved to CA. Her father's name was Samuel H. Weakley. I hear he was the black sheep in the family. I know the family is connected to TN where there is a statue of a Weakley who started a University. I know we're related to the Weakley who spoke at Pres. Andrew Jackson's wife's funeral. I know that a Weakley fought in the Spanish-American War. I know a Weakley was a scout with Daniel Boone, had white hair and was scalped. His hair was found later in an Indian Village.

HELP!!! Do these Weakley's Sound familiar to anyone?
