Dear Taryn,

I know this is a longshot, but...
I am related to Hugh Drury, who is assumed to be the George Drury who came on the Abigail in 1635. He is listed on the passenger list as being from East Grinstead, Sussex. He settled in Sudbury MA and later in Boston. His son, John, married Mary Weare, who's father Peter Weare came to Maine from Gloustershire in the 1630s. I have never been able to understand how the connection between the Drury's of MA with the Weare's of ME occurred. These were pretty remote regions in the 1630s. Is there a possible connection in East Grinstead?

Other related family names are Gooch and Hammond.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Michael Drury

By the way the WARE forum has some info on Weares as well.
