my mother,s maiden name was weafer I was born in Ireland but live in Chicago now.My grandfather,s name was james weafer.The name WEAFER is a rare name even in Ireland,there are only 2 sets of family,s in the Irish phone books.The name Weafer can be traced back to the VIKINGS (weaver) northen Europe .There are only 91 regestered (Weafer,s) that came through Ellis Island,look up ZABBA search.com for more info!my sister did a family tree and went all the way back to the 1500,s ther is a WEAFER ST in WEXFORD and that ST would have been their settelment.My mother was from a of all girls, so the weafer name in my family will die ,but the legesy will live on
