Daile,
The info that I have found on Margaret Bolen is conflicting. In 1998 I was in Culpeper and found in the library the burial records for Culpeper. It listed Margaret and James twice. The two records for Margaret disagreed. They read:
“Wayland, Maggie N. born 6 June 1839, Died Dec 1909, Wife of James P. Wayland”
“Wayland, Margaret N. wife of James P., born 6, June 1938, died 21 Dec 1901. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery”. Her tombstone reads: June 6, 1838-Dec 21, 1901. Because the tombstone agreed with the second record, that is the one I went with. Do you have any other sources for her birth and death dates?

I have been in contact with Alice Bonaiuto a descendent of Frederick Posey Wayland, brother of James William and Russell Barborie. See genealogy.com “Re: Fredick Wayland Bessie Woodsen”.

Thanks for the census info.
Gordon Smith
