James A. Way, Sr. Obit

PITTSFORD — James A. Way, Sr., age 65, of Pittsford passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1942, in Hudson, Mich., to Philo S. and Laura M. (Fulmer) Way. He married Linda Hyde on Oct. 26, 1963, in Monroe, Mich., and she survives.

Jim lived in the Pittsford area all his life. He attended Pittsford High School. He worked for Allied Products in Hillsdale for 28 years. He then worked for Republic Die and Tool in Livonia, then for American Tooling at Grass Lake, retiring in 2006.

Jim also repaired car and tractor tires for more than 35 years. Jim was a former member of the Pittsford Fire Department. He enjoyed pulling tractors and trucks, he loved demolition cars and he also loved old tractors, trucks and cars.

Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are two sons, James A. (Sheila) Way, Jr. of Hillsdale, Shane M. (Jennifer) Way of Pittsford; one daughter, Lori (William) Martin of Osseo; four grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter; one brother, Jerry (Cynthia) Way of Hudson; three sisters, Virginia Slocum of Tecumseh, Barbara (Russell) Bildner of New Orleans, La., Marjorie (Lenard) Wollett of Hudson.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson, with the Rev. Clyde L. Wonders, officiating. Burial will be made in Burt-Evergreen Cemetery, Ransom Township, Hillsdale County, Mich.
