Looking for connections anyone may have to my grandfather, Stanley Wawrzynski, born in Poland (Galicia region??) between approximatley 1880 and 1900. Arrived here unmarried in early 1900's. Lived in Elizabeth, Newark, and Irvington, NJ. Married Julia Lenart before 1915 in one of those places, most likely Elizabeth. Worked as foundry worker. Four children: Helen, Genevieve, Edward, Eugene, all now deceased except one. Left his wife and children early 1930's. Died and buried in Norwalk or South Norwalk, Connecticut, in mid-June, approximately 1953-54. Buried as Stanley Dumont, though we don't know where that name comes from.
There are two Stanislaw Wawrzynskis from Poland in the Ellis Island records who could be my grandfather:
1. Austria, Polish
2. Galicia, Polish
1. Skole, Galicia
Arrival and Age:
1. 23 Dec 1910 - 17 (so born 1893)
2. 1 Apr 1902 - 24 (so born 1878)
1. Olyphant(?), Pennsylvania
2. Cornellis(very unclear), Pennsylvania
Both of them were from the Galicia region, which is where Stanley most likely was from. They were headed for Pennsylvania, but Stanley lived in New Jersey and ended up in Connecticut.
Any information will be much appreciated.
