Have found a John Lafayette Watts who married Josephine McClendon at this cemetery website: http://files.usgwarchives.org/al/clay/cemeteries/hatchett.txt
I think John Lafayette is our Jake L because Josephine McClendon Watts is buried next to him and his daughter, Beulah Watts (Caldwell) is also there. The location of the cemetery would also be appropriate (Clay County Alabama)and the birthdates coincide with the census of 1880.
