I've been trying to sort out the various WATTS families who came from North Carolina. Should you determine WHO Jake L. Watts is and "which" WATTS are his parents/siblings, I'd certainly appreciate hearing back from you.
My Wattses are also from NC, slipped for 20 years or so into North Georgia (Dahlonega, Lumpkin county & possibly Hall County) before settling into North Alabama (that part of Blount that became Winston and Cullman counties, then Walker county).

I would imagine "Jake" is short of Jacob? Would love to know what the middle name starting with "L." stands for? My Great Grandfather Levi Watts b. 1829 had a younger brother named Jacob V. Watts (b. 1834), plus Levi's older sister Martha married yet another Jacob Watts (b. 1814 NC, possibly a cousin?
I have been accumulating Watts data, specifically those who came outta NC into Alabama.
Do stay in touch.
J. Spaulding (daughter of Opal WATTS)
