Tishomingo Co WATTS
For those from the Josiah WATTS line or those interested in it I have some new information. While searching on Heritage Quest the other night I found something on Deborah Young. She is the 90 year old lady listed in Josiah's household on the 1850 census. From a REV WAR pension file listed in her name online she was the wife of a William Young. She died in Tishomingo Co MS 11 Dec 1852. She had surviving her a son William, son James and a daughter Rebecca, whose married name appears to be WARREN. The letter that was written by her son William is very faded in spots and hard to read.
It states that she married William Young in the years 1784 and the her name before her marriage was HUGHS. The full file is not online so that you have to be sent for to see if there is other information in it. The pension was rejected so the microfilm it is on is under Rejected pensions. The funny thing about this is that William Young JR appears to have been trying for a pension on his father's service two years after his mother died as the letter is dated 4 Sep 1854 and was done from Decatur Co TN. Witnesses to this letter were a L. Kelly and John Coats.
