The Benjamin F. Watts who was the son of Thomas Watts Jr, and his wife Serepta Williams was living with his mother and brother and sister in the household of his mother's parents, Henry and Mary Williams in the 1850 census of Sabine Co., Texas. He had one brother, Greenberry, and one sister, Amanda (Amanda later married a Holyfield). His mother remarried (the name of her second husband escapes me at the moment) and moved to Louisiana with her family.I don't have all of the names of their childrenat hand, but they are listed in the newsletter that my daughter and I publish. Is this the same Benjamin Franklin Watts that is said to have lived on the Watts plantation in Alabama? We lost much on this family after they moved, but they still have descendants here in Texas. We don't have any documentation that this Watts family lived in Alabama. We have them in SC in 1790, Miss., in 1805-10, and in Ouachita Parish, LA from 1811-1825.They then came to Texas whereThomas Watts, Sr. received his Mexican land grant in 1834.
